Corporate Well Being through Yoga
The whole body and mind suffers just by sitting for long hours. Why ? Because the human body has Evolved over millions of years to Stand Upright and be in Movement. This natural process of evolution requires us to take care of our body in the best way possible so that we can experience physical and mental well being at all times.
Sitting for long hours impacts the whole body. Stiffness and weakness builds up in the neck, shoulders, arms, wrists, back, knees, hamstrings, hip joints, ankles and the whole Spinal cord. Metabolism slows down which affects digestion and weight. Staring at a screen for long hours causes headaches and poor eye sight. Prolonged sitting also causes lack of blood flow to the brain and throughout the body which eventually affects the mind causing stress, anxiety, irritability, insomnia and also depression. All these symptoms don’t happen overnight, but infact build up over a period of several weeks/months. You may not be able to change the fact that you have to sit at work for several hours. But it is possible to exercise and relax the body and mind while being seated.
Corporate Yoga (also known as Desktop Yoga) involves performing a series of Stretching, Strengthening and Breathing techniques which can be done in a seated or standing position. session(s) will include -
